The Time I Discussed My December TBR

I cannot make myself believe that we are already at December! Another year has practically flown by. And soon it will be time for me to evaluate my year and come up with some reading and blog goals for 2015.

But we aren’t there yet! So I won’t jump the gun and I shall instead think about my December TBR.

I will be traveling for the majority of the month, so I’m not exactly sure whether I will have time to read (or blog). However, I find traveling stressful. Especially when flying halfway across the world to see family that I haven’t seen in 9 years. And books might be the only thing that will keep me from panicking. That’s a lie. I’m already panicking. BUT IT WON’T MAKE IT WORSE.

I will not be taking any physical books with me, but I am going to preload my iPad and visit some Indian bookstores. Hopefully, I will be able to find some time to review books because I need to clear my Netgalley review log.

Without further ado, MY AMBITIOUS LIST.

1. Lies We Tell Ourselves by Lindsay Buroker

2. Jackaby by William Ritter

3. Saga, Vol. 1 by Brian K. Vaughan (re-read)

4. Saga, Vol. 2 by Brian K. Vaughan

5. Saga, Vol. 3 by Brian K. Vaughan

6. Defy by Sara B. Larson

7. Republic by Lindsay Buroker

8. The Lost Legend of Jevalya by Alex Cole (review from Netgalley)

9. Every Ugly Word by Aimee Salter (review from Netgalley)

I don’t even know if this list is realistic at all. But we’ll see what happens.

The most exciting part about my trip is that I will be bringing books back! I lived in India for a few years before moving to the United States. Obviously, I couldn’t bring most of my books with me so I had to leave them behind. This will be the first time that I am going back since I left, and I will be able to sort through my books and bring back as many as I can.

I think the series that I am most excited to bring back is the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz. I can’t wait to have my books back in my arms again!!

Is there a book that you guys are excited to read in the month of December? Let me know and I’ll check it out!

  1. Oh wow! That is a huge trip you have ahead of you. I think I saw from your Leafmarks profile that you live in Michigan, so India is a long, long way away! I hate being in transit as well, so you have my sympathies. Good luck with the travel and the family reunion!

I loved peeking at your December TBR list! I’m really interested in Saga, now — I put it on hold at my library, so I’ll be reading it as soon as I can. I’m also super excited for you to read Republic and to hear your thoughts. I happen to think there were too many narrators, but its still a treat for fans of the series. It’s hard to complain about lack of editing when you love an author’s work!

Also, I feel you on the Netgalley stats. I’m reading The Walled City right now, to try to get my response rate back ove 80%. I also have Stanley Tucci’s Italian cookbook to review as well and Best Food Writing of 2013 — lol! I’ll be interested to see what you thought of your galleys!

    • Thank you! I’m glad you will be reading Saga soon. I look forward to reading your thoughts about it :).

I’m thinking that the Republic would make an excellent read on a long flight. So I’ll be saving it for then. I’m sooo excited!!

Yea, I’ve learned my lesson with the galleys. Only request books you REALLY want to read (like the second VMars book :P). I’m hoping to be done with my galleys by January. And then I’m going to stick to requesting graphic-novels unless something catches my eye.

    • I’m so excited for it! I was a little bummed that they pushed back the release date. It was originally set for the 8th I believe (somewhere around there) which meant I would have been able to grab it as I was leaving. But now it’s going to be released only on the 23rd. So I might have to wait until I get back to read it. I also believe that this series (or at the very least this volume) is only available in paperback form. I haven’t seen any Kindle options on their website. So I wouldn’t be able to download it anyway :/.

      • Oh man. That sucks. :/ Also, I didn’t know the publication date has been pushed back. I’ll be away on Christmas as well, but we leave on the 24th. I must. I must pick that up before we go.
